I want to get on.
No seriously, who could resist the joy of KoolAid and yarn? Not me, obviously. So what happens when you combine this:
with this?:
Why THIS is what happens!
I'm looking to make some socks for Rick in his college team (University of Florida) colors. Who would have thought that it's almost impossible to find yarn in this particular colorway? I mean, doesn't EVERYONE think these colors look great together? No? OK, me either, but they're not FOR me, so orange-and-blue it is. Eventually I realized that in order to get this hideous cheerful spirited blend of colors, I was going to have to do it myself. It seemed easy enough, judging by all the KoolAid mania running about on the net, and it was. It was so much fun, that I have actually decided that I love this yarn, colors and all.
While I was at it, I also did a little superwash merino roving that I had on hand, and a skein of Cascade's EcoWool in (I think) #8019 -- using different colors, of course. I've a little set of in-process photos here if you're interested. There are definitely some things I would do a little differently, like more KoolAid for more intense colors/saturation for the roving, etc., but basically this was a ton of fun and super easy. Best of all, it was FAST. I think I was in and out of the kitchen in about 45 minutes including clean up. Talk about instant gratification!
