Woo Hoo!

Well, while scanning pictures and/or talking on the phone today I finished my 4th hat - Go Team Boston!…and I am considering myself done on time since they are still showing the closing ceremonies  on TV right now (I know it is on a delay and they are all asleep in Italy, but I didn’t cast on until the opening ceremonies were on TV here anyhow!)

So here is my “podium shot” from the upper left the hats are: Lava Girl, Scottish Twist, Flying Wombat, and Blue Wave. The mittens are Grimace Hands. This has been a great way to spend my February Break…maybe I should go prep for tomorrow…yeah, school…

This has been a great experiance! Thanks for organizing it, good luck to everyone finishing their projects.

Come & Visit !

It's Done and So am I.

I did it!

This victory was not without sacrifice.  My Dining Room has only 1 1/2 more walls painted than yesterday morning :

Also sacrificed was a great deal of sleep, as I stayed up until 1am on Friday and 3am last night to finish.  The saddest sacrifice of all is that I've decided to skip the Closing Ceremonies party, because the thought of changing out of my pajamas right now is more than I can handle.

Hope you all are having a great time, and that you've all won Gold!

16 days, 16 hats

16hats Done.  16 hats in 16 days. My challenge was just finding the time to knit.  I wove in the ends on the last hat as they were playing the Swedish national anthem.

Anyone else rooting for Team Finland?  With a player named Koivu (rhymes with Koigu) how could a knitter not root for Finland?

a wrenching defeat

My spectacular crash is described on my blog. In order to distract myself from the burning disappointment, I noodled around with the personality survey data.

Gold Medal Fashion Show

Here are a bunch of pictures of my finished sweater.

Yippee!

I Got Nothing

i made a button.  like bode, the expectations were high, but i fell short.  if you fell short, but had a good time anyway, feel free to help yourself.

All But the Buttons!

Trellis is done, all but the buttons (yes, even blocked!)!  I have to say that the seaming and weaving in of ends was much less tedious then expected, and overall I would highly recommend this pattern - it's well written and really fun to make.  DH and I are going to be at the LYS first thing tomorrow morning to buy buttons (we don't shop on Saturdays, otherwise you can bet I would have been there today!), and I'm hoping to have the buttons sewn on by the end of the Closing Ceremonies, but I have no idea when they are!  Are we going by Torino time or Boston time?  Thoughts, anyone?
OTN - a cable & seed baby hat made in the same yarn, to match the sweater.
Here it is:

This has been a great knitting experience!  Thanks, everyone.

North Shore Family Resumes Domestic Activities

Minutes ago,  North of Boston, witnesses report that they heard a loud noise eminating from a residence here in this prominent suburb.  Some say that it sounded like a domestic squabble as a woman was heard to shout "I'm done" and a man responded "Thank god" while others close to the family say that apparently it all has something to do with knitting.  The family inside this house have refused to come to the door because there is something going on inside  according to survellance tapes, that is "blocking" what we can only assume is the entrance to the residence.  There is the smell of a dryer running non-stop, which neighbors say is the first such evidence of any domestic activity in days, and they also say that the pile of newspapers that had been covering the side porch has suddenly disappeared.  We can only watch and wait, and hope that everyone inside is okay.  The local fire department declines to offer any assistance in our attempts to contact the residents, saying simply that "It's that woman with the wool."  We'll keep our eyes on this situation, and let you know if there are any developments.  Hopefully, we'll have some pictures in the morning.
