Appearancess have been a little sparse here in the last few weeks, mainly because we've had a plethora of either business travel for us, or friends/family staying here (love you guys, really, but does The Weather Channel HAVE to be on 24/7?). Lucky for me, big.honkin'.college.football.day + the car show being in town = boys' day out. Picture someting akin to Father's Day, minus the fishin'. In my mind, boys' day out = girls' day out. Now, if I were a responsible, sensible girl, I would stay home and...I don't know, maybe lay tile, or prime some window trim, or something equally boring. I've never been very good at doing chores when there's fun to be had, though, so while they had their male bonding, my Saturday ended up looking like this instead:
Wheeeeeeeeeeels! Does this look like fun or what?!?!
We had an amazing workshop on plying with Barbara Clorite yesterday in the heart of Moth Heaven, and we had such fun that it's hard to even think of it as a "class". But learn we did. Barbara was a wonderful teacher, and in addition to teaching us the basics of good, balanced plying, she taught us all kinds of cool methods and techniques - Andean, Navaho, cable - so many. We even made boucle!!! No, seriously, and it even LOOKS like the real deal! Julia knit some of hers up right off the bobbin and it looked fantastic. Maybe if we ask nicely, she'll show it to us? Speaking of Julia...this workshop was her brainchild, and she also graciously allowed us to overrun her kitchen. Thank you, Julia. It was, as always, great fun.
Heaven in a teacup...a wheel...a bobbin...it worked for me! It was one of my fiber bests. Loved seeing you!

Completely and utterly jealous. That's all I've got. Too green for more right now. ;-)
