Some stuff for some people, pt 2.

See how badly you are kicking my ass? Not that we're racing or anything, but still. This is where I was on Tuesday, after a complete rip-out and re-knit last week. Don't ask, just know that one should not knit lace when one is so tired that one might fall asleep mid-stitch, putting one's entire lace shawl at risk. Lessons for life.

But just look at the pretty yarn.....

Pattern: Miriam's Icarus shawl. IK Summer 2006.
Yarn: Misti Alpaca in Maize (Why they are calling this Maize, I'll never understand. This color looks no more like an ear of corn than does...say...my red hair. What it SHOULD be called is key lime, but whatever rocks their boat. The picture on the web page is actually a pretty good color representation.)

Leon said to tell you that he misses you and that you should come for a visit the next time you're in the neighborhood. He would have had me post a picture of the back-flip-belly-exposing-cute-you-to-death pose, but he din't think the rest of us could handle it.

I can't compete with your giant yard, but I CAN design a cute mini-cottage garden, if I do say so myself. Now if only I could figure out what to put in the back....

Sadly, no cockle shells. Just cocoa shells.

How about late blooming daylilies in the back. They'll give you some color when other blooms have gone by. Check out www.daylilies-hostas.com/daylilies from R. Seawright in Carlisle, MA. They'll ship them to you.

I have some of that "key lime" alpaca too--that's exactly what I call it as well. I don't know who they think they're kidding. Maize is yellow... this stuff is GREEN.

Your cats are freakin' adorable. Are they allowed on that sculpture (?) or did you catch them in mid-transgression?

Leon (and Josie, sweet, sweet Josie),

I miss you.

I have yet to come across two cats as fine as you and do promise to stop by the next time I swing through. (perhaps we'll even have time for a rousing game of cat in a box?) One the one hand it's too bad you didn't share the flip'over'back and then get'up'walk'away'like'"I"'meant'to'do'that picture, but on the other - I'd probably fall victim to the cuteness; then who knows what might happen.

Please let Kellee know that those shoes continue to look as great as they did when they were purchased, but that two out of those colors would be lovely and three, well, three is something only she can pull off. (Throw in the key-lime pie color and the red hair? a disaster for the rest of us, but I bet she pulls it off. I'm continually in awe.)

Hang in there my sweets, and I hope you're enjoying all of the questions about if you're allowed to be hanging out up there...
